A Likely Story

Tucked away on the edges of the Up, there's a quaint two-story building a good distance from any neighbors.

The bottom floor is dedicated to a bookshop, with the sign over the door designating it A Likely Story. Upstairs is a two-bedroom apartment, cozy and as filled with books as the downstairs.

The owner seems fairly particular about what sorts of books he stocks, and despite the cluttered feel of it, the shelves are meticulously organized. The fiction section primarily features books which have at some point been banned by the city, as well as novels that challenge the status quo.

As for non-fiction, there are plenty of texts offering useful knowledge-- everything from cooking to self-defense. (There may even be a stash of books about crafting weapons and explosives under the counter if you know to ask.)

For those tuned in to magic, they may sense something odd about the books, but perhaps it's just that after a while of being off the shelf, they fly themselves back into their proper place. But then, maybe there's something else. Given that it's a used bookstore, it might seem a bit odd that the exact same books reappear on the shelves after being sold. (And if you were to be invited up to the apartment, you might find some very familiar looking volumes among the books scattered up there.)

There are comfortable arm chairs scattered throughout the store, and it seems not only allowed but encouraged for patrons to read at their leisure. There is also an unofficial policy for submissives unaccompanied by a Dom-- books are priced at Pay As You Will for them (even if that means nothing at all). If you absolutely must take it home, there is a way.

Finally, there is a root cellar. There is nothing of note in the root cellar. If you are not magically inclined, going near the root cellar will result in the immediate sensation that you have forgotten a very urgent appointment elsewhere in the city.
